Getting to Mashatu Lodge

Mashatu Lodge is situated at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, Botswana.

Mashatu Lodge is located in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, Botswana, boasting a diverse range of fauna. The diverse wilderness features two riverbeds carved out by ancient lava flows.

Guests can get to this remote eastern corner known as the Thuli Block, Botswana, either by air or by 4x4 vehicle. Guests can catch one of the daily flights between OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to Polokwane Airport. From there guests can opt for a seat-in-plane air transfer to Mashatu or a road transfer from Polokwane.

Guests who self drive should note that the Border Post between South African and Botswana at Port Drift opens at 8am and closes at 4pm strictly. The Mashatu Game Reserve is a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg. Mashatu rangers will meet guests at exactly 1pm at the Port Drift Border Post. The drive from the border post to Mashatu Main Safari Camp will take about 45 minutes.
